Jason Bateman's strict morning routine he thinks 'everyone else follows'
Jason Bateman has explained his morning routine, which is quite regimented. He follows the same set of tasks each day without fail, but his celebrity besties won’t follow the same commitment.
During a segment of their Paramount+ TV docuseries SmartLess: On the Road, Jason discusses how he starts his day with his fellow podcast hosts and actors, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, while they drive to their destination. Both of his friends can’t quite fathom why The Arrested Development star starts the day the way he does. The hilarious trio often get into arguments. Despite being celebrity pals, it doesn’t seem to be a problem for their long term friendship, though.
Jason Bateman’s morning routine he never fails to follow
The trio discuss their plans for what they are having for dinner when Sean asks his two friends if they would rather shower or not beforehand. Jason then asks whether he prefers to shower at night or in the morning.
“I’m a night showerer actually, but this morning I took a shower,” the Will and Grace actor admitted.
“So you don’t shower when you get up in the morning?” Jason asks back.
“I mean, if I have a gig or something to go to, I do,” Sean replies.

“A gig?” Jason quips incredulously, “How long you been singing?” which makes the three of them burst into laughter.
Will & Grace star Sean then explains that for him, his bathroom habits don’t have an effect on his day which seems to worry the 54-year-old.
Arrested Development star is particular about his showers
“I was thinking about this because you mentioned this the other day as well to me, Jason,” pipes up Will. “You were like ‘Well you don’t shower after you poop?’ I’m like, ‘Who showers after they poop?’ What kind of damage -“
The movie actor is then cut off by Jason: “All you need to do is just shower at the top of the day and make sure your poop proceeds that. So wake up, have some coffee, empty your stall.”
“But stuff happens! Literally, s*** happens,” Will exclaims.
“You’ve never had a situation where you’ve had to go in the middle of the day?” asks Will, to which Jason replies those who poop throughout the day are people who “don’t get up in time to take care of their business in the morning.”
“I don’t eat so much food in the middle of the day that I have to create more room by pushing stuff out of me,” Jason defends which makes his Hollywood pals laugh. “Why don’t you just try eating a little bit less and s*** once a day?”
Jason gets revenge
After the TV actor said he believed he was “like most of the people on this planet” Will responded he wasn’t and was instead asking the “questions of a wide-eyed nine-year-old right now.”
The clip concludes with Jason getting revenge on his celebrity co-hosts and having them in stitches as he criticizes Will for taking a bath instead of a shower.
“Why are you taking baths? First of all, the concept of sitting in a pot of your own juice is something reserved for broccoli, lobster, and for humans that needed to clean before plumbing was invented.”
