The feud is continuing! This time, Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” lyrics just name-dropped Taylor Swift amid his lengthy diss battle with Kendrick Lamar. Though it’s a diss, the rapper had pretty good things to say about The Tortured Poets Department singer.
On April 19, 2024, Drake released “Push Ups” as his response to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That.” The verse was a jab at J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter,” in which he referred to himself, Drake, and Kendrick as “the big three.” Kendrick rebutted, “Yeah get up with me, fuck sneak dissing/‘First Person Shooter,’ I hope they came with three switches/Motherfuck the big three, n—a, it’s just big me.”
“Push Ups” is fully directed at the Pulitzer Prize winning rapper. The “One Dance” rapper also references Kendrick’s relations with Maroon 5 and Swifties “You better do that motherfuckin’ show inside the bity / Maroon 5 need a verse, you better make it witty / Then we need a verse for the Swifties” However, Kendrick’s response wasn’t swift enough for the Toronto artist and he made another diss track and released it shortly after with the help of AI-generated voices of some Compton legendary rappers.
